A couple of small cities en villages were visited. Besides the three capitals Patan, Bhaptapur and Kathmandu there were two cities specialized in wood carping and pottery. Since wood carping is very common in Nepal the pictures aren't easy to distinguish from the of the beautiful wood carping in the rest of the country. But there is a temple, a palace build of mud and a number of very romantic streets.

The pottery is more recognizable. The pots are baked in kiln build for each baking all over again. Above such a kiln. First they start to arrange the pots together with firewood. Then they create a thick layer of isolating material of sand and mud. After setting the fire and waiting patiently they have an enormous amount of pottery...

During the circular tour through the country we visited two famous cities. Well-known is Ghurka. This origin of the current royal family is now the source of some discomfort. That much history and belligerent makes every ruler somewhat nervous. The king stays ones a year in the city. A palace were build decorated with splendid wood carving. It is a small city. It is not very likely, that all these famous soldiers are born in the city themselves.

Another well-known city is Tansen. That is a nice picturesque destination with a pigheaded population. You are sleeping above the city with a splendid view on the mountains. There is some palace where a lot of soldiers stay. You enter the site through an enormous gate. Besides they have a characteristic tower with a nice view over the neighborhood.
