The third capital is Patan. Like the others all the nice things are grouped around the central square. The city has at about 150.000 inhabitants and is 2600 old. The oldest city of Nepal. From 1480 until 1768 Patan was an independent kingdom. In front of the royal palace there is a pillar with a bronze statue of the mythological flying man, Garuda the mount of the god Vishnu. In the palace the roof is carried by wood carved support. It isn't easy to take pictures.

Near by there is the famous Golden temple. The light is inside somewhat difficult. But is the whole of Nepal this temple doesn't have any competition. It is constructed from a number of buildings covered with bronze figures and statues. Very nice, but a little bit disorganized...

From the roof of a pub you have a splendid view over the square and surrounding. Afterwards we wander in the streets around. The city is less restored than the others. The streets leading to the centre are crowded and a lot of buildings along are worth to take pictures from. All over the place there is shrouded in mysteriousness. Almost nothing is known about his history. The temples and palace date from the 17e century. But probably there were temples and palaces before...
