The circular trip starts and ended in Kathmandu. The capital of the country is situated in the middle of enormous valley on the passage from India to Tibet and China. The valley was geological relative short time ago a big lake. On an island in the middle of the lake, now raising steep from the plains is a beautiful temple complex. It is quiet a climb. The older ones were advised to take the bus along the backside of the hill. Offended almost nobody took the offer. The stairs up the hill were covered with statues and pagodas.

Up the hill there are a big number of buildings from all times. It is almost a village. Not everything is that beautiful. In the youngest one there was a celebration. We recorded the noise of the singing on video. The building as well as the singing weren't much liked by me. The most characteristic building is the white with yellow 'stoepa' in the middle covered with gold and surrounded with prayer cylinders. The place is all over covered with tens of small stoepas and pagodas. Along the side there were some constructions with shadow and a splendid view over the county...

In a small museum they have a number of metal and stone tables. It is quiet sure, what the meaning is. Most of the visitors can't understand anything of it. But real archaeologists should be in uppermost exiting because of these. They restore a number of buildings, because they need more shops. The department of buildings in Holland should be enthusiastic about the provisions. The workers are standing on very thin bamboe beams. All over in Nepal and India you find the same type of constructions with people working sky high on this kind of supporting structures...

Besides monks en tourists monkeys established themselves on the hill. The whole day they look to the crowds with tourists pityingly. They don't ask for food even. So a good life they have...
