The king of Thailand had two important palaces. In the middle of Bangkok the temple, where he lives in the winter. Outside the city there was the summer palace, that still partially is used by the royal family and official visitors. So it isn't always open for tourists. Ton Frijters wasn't there. We considered it as one of the highlights. It is an enormous park with palaces, pagodas, temples en some Jugendstil of the beginning of the 20th century. The very red temples are presents of China. Inside there was big ship made of jade.

When we arrived, there was near the entry an enormous noise. Obviously it was a holyday. The noise was fit to wake the dead. We flee away to quiet regions of the park. They trim hedges in elephants. There is some kind of lighthouse. A present too. I didn't manage to take a reasonable picture of it. From the tower you have a beautiful sight over the palaces. They didn't count on big Dutch people. I didn't mind my head while climbing the stairs. All over the area you have nice views. Everything is be done to get the best result. Several pagodas controls the sights. A delightful place...
